『発明BOYカニパン』の続編で、前作から5年後という設定である。レギュラーキャラクターは思春期世代になり、キャラクターデザインも一新され頭身が延びた。当初は前作のようなコメディ、特にラブコメを散りばめた構成だったが、次第にかなりシリアスなストーリー展開へ進んでいった。 今作を中心にCD・コミック連載・ゲームソフト発売を軸にしたメディアミックスが展開され、本放送時にはドリームキャストの拡販を目論んでいたセガ・エンタープライゼスをメインスポンサーに迎えた。その為劇中にもドリームキャストのメモリーカードが登場する。。In the year 2772, a meteor of unknown origin collides with the planet Earth, transforming it and some of its inhabitants forever. Included in this transformation are the descendants of the classic Looney Tunes characters, who become super-powered heroes, yet still retaining the wacky personalities of their ancestors.。
