民国初年，村民刘风带领众人上山挖矿，不料惊醒了沉睡百年的大蛇，在逃亡的过程中，只有刘风活了下来；几天后，村里开始举办祭祀活动，并且邀请了江湖道士成州一同参与，意图剿杀蛇王，成州误打误撞杀了大蛇。可接下来村民依然遭受大蛇的袭击，不停的有人失踪，一场惊心动魄的人蛇大战拉开序幕……。The story of a young group of siblings pretty much abandoned by their parents, surviving by their wits - and humor - on a rough Manchester council estate.
