通天少爷李宝通乃棉胎店老板李昌建之独子，经常暗中替乔装乞丐的侦缉队长陈英刚买食物，并向他学习武功。后英刚给红枪客林飞杀死，宝通正好在暗处看见事发经过，并偷听到林飞所透露的犯案者名字。此时，宝通行踪被发现，幸宝通机智，得以逃脱，惟其胸部上的苍鹰刺青已被林飞看到。。艾丽（克劳黛·考尔白 Claudette Colbert 饰）有一个显赫有钱的家庭，这恰恰成为她感情不如意的根源——父亲不赞成她和飞机师卫斯理结婚。艾丽一气之下离家出走，前去找卫斯理，不料途中钱财遭抢。遇上记者沃恩（克拉克·盖博 Clark Gable饰），沃恩得知艾丽是个不平常的富家女，确信艾丽非常有新闻价值，可以炮制出吸引眼球的新闻，便一路与艾丽同行。路上车前进遇阻，乘客得在半路住一晚旅馆，而身无分文的艾丽只能与沃恩同屋，并在床上用毯子间隔开两人来睡。 旅途颠簸，意外连连，二人共同经历了不少难忘之事。感情在渐渐滋长。艾丽的目的地就要到了，两人的心中都有些欲言又止的情愫。面对自己本来想要寻找的卫斯理，面对父亲门当户对的思想，艾丽和沃恩的感情不知走向何处。。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
