沂蒙山区的一个偏远小山村，2009年夏天，迎接来了支教老师毛小亮。小亮新颖的教学方法，使孩子们学习进步很快。小亮因婚事与支教的矛盾，极不情愿地离开山村。日后，他却被孩子们的情感所打动。。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。
